The bird that banged into my window yesterday experienced a lot of pain, yet was free. This one experiences no pain and is safe, yet imprisoned.

few words...deep stuff...which is better?
This is a great thought... reminds me of the day I watched a pigeon fly above my head, straight into the wall of my house, then bounce down right by my feet. It did not survive. But yes, it was free, and its life was its own. Very thought-provoking!
Great pairing of thought, picture and quote. That Nin quote will stay with me awhile.
Frankly, so will your post title? I'm not sure which bird I am. It is a good question.
ooh i am intrigued and convicted by this: would i rather be trapped but pain-free, or free but filled with pain? sigh. life is hard. thanks for making it easier with your beautiful words. e.
