which bird are you?

The bird that banged into my window yesterday experienced a lot of pain, yet was free. This one experiences no pain and is safe, yet imprisoned.

Pauline's bird

"And the day
came

when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud

was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

This is a great thought... reminds me of the day I watched a pigeon fly above my head, straight into the wall of my house, then bounce down right by my feet. It did not survive. But yes, it was free, and its life was its own. Very thought-provoking!

Great pairing of thought, picture and quote. That Nin quote will stay with me awhile.

Frankly, so will your post title? I'm not sure which bird I am. It is a good question.
